This model is a combination of the Heritage and Crusader (my personal favorite bits of each!) and with the flap moved back 1.5". This is to correspond with me using the rear stirrup ring and having short legs so the Cavallin models aren't ideal for me. This worked great for my mare who dislikes moving legs - excellent stability!
The innovation to distribute weight through the flaps across the length of the saddle was made by Torsion (also designed by Camillo Cavallin) years ago and popularized in the US and Canada through Sensation saddles.
