We live next to the 30k acre Oregon Badlands Wilderness with almost unlimited riding - year round! There are four BLM trail access points around the perimeter of the Badlands but we're centrally located with access to all ~60 miles of trails from two gates. If you would like to park at our place (scheduled times only) we also have other amenities. Directions here - and keep in mind this access is for scheduled events and pre-arranged access only. No public drop-ins!
We have a 60x120 indoor arena, a 60' round pen, and a 1 mile obstacle course as well. Our latest project is an indoor, heated space for dental clinics. We will eventually have a stocks, but for now we have a matted floor, heat, hot & cold water and room for observers.
The indoor can be rented for events, cost determined on an individual basis and I'll post scheduled event dates below. For individual riding, with an advance request to Marlene, the cost is $10/horse trailer-in fee and you'll need to scoop your poop.
It's also $10/horse if you want to use the round pen or the obstacle course. $100/year for up to 24 visits or 1 year free if you donate or build an obstacle (can help with materials). Trail only access is $10/trailer. All access must be coordinated in advance due to parking limitations.
Guided trail rides on your horse are $15/hour and I can put together anything from 1 to 15 miles. I can also organize a 25 mile ride with a rest period for $25/rider. I'll also teach you how to use Avenza Maps so you can make up your own loops.
Other ideas? Just ask! I can give you an introduction to endurance as well. My schedule is limited with the endurance ride season but arena and trail access can be coordinated with my mom when I'm out of town.
NOTE: any usage of our property including the arena, round pen, obstacle course or trail access means that you have read and understood the Oregon Equestrian pursuant to ORS § 30.687
"It is the policy of the State of Oregon that no person shall be liable for damages sustained by another solely as a result of risks inherent in equine activity, insofar as those risks are, or should be, reasonably obvious, expected or necessary to the person injured." There will be a form to sign inside the indoor on your first visit.
NOTE: Please no dogs unless approved in advance for trail riding only, not indoor arena use. A single instance of a dog chasing a horse will ban that dog from the property. I have a horse that will gladly stomp your dog, so this is for you as well as me.
